Our achievements

Ohanyan educational complex has developed a number of initiatives during the course of its history with the goal of elevating the next generation and improving education.

“Microsoft” company

  • In order to spread the innovative methods used in the educational complex, it participated in the “Innovative Schools” competition announced by Microsoft company. It should be noted that schools from almost 200 countries of the world applied to participate in the competition. “Ohanyan” educational complex has been recognized as one of the 63 innovative schools of the world, according to the judges of Microsoft’s “Partners in Education” school programs. The approved qualification gave the students and staff of the educational complex the opportunity to be at the center of the modern educational process and to participate in virtual seminars and discussions for almost a year, to invest and apply the experience of mentor schools around the world, to create innovative educational methods.
  • In the 2010-2011 year, within the framework of the “Partners in Education” program of Microsoft’s Armenian representative office, the educational complex was recognized as an innovative school of Armenia, receiving a 1st class diploma and the right to participate in the international competition.
  • The educational complex took part in the Microsoft International Company’s “International Innovative School” competition during the 2011–2012 academic year. It won recognition as an “International Innovative School,” and was granted access to the international forum held in Washington, USA.
  • In the academic year 2011–2012, the educational complex took part in the “Energy and Environment-2012” program run by the Armenian representative office of Microsoft. As a result, 3 of the 4 works it submitted were chosen as winners and sent to an international competition, where one of them took second place.
  • Within the “Innovative Teacher” program, the educational complex received one main prize, one first prize, and one incentive reward in 2012. The main prize winner attended the International Forum of European Innovative Teachers, which was held in Lisbon, Portugal.
  • Two educators from the educational complex were once more honored as creative expert educators in 2015 by Microsoft’s “Expert Teacher” program.
  • The educational complex took part in the worldwide forum held in Barcelona, Spain in 2014 and was given the top prize of the international “Expert Teacher” program by the Microsoft Corporation.
  • The educational complex participated in the creation of online educational courses in various subjects with the support of Microsoft and the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs.
  • In order to discuss new projects and programs within the Haytsar project, two representatives of the educational complex traveled to the United States. While there, they visited elementary, middle, and high schools in Boston to exchange experiences and learn more about the context in which science is taught as well as the most recent educational methods.
  • During the 2014-15 school year, the educational complex implemented the “Global Entrepreneurship Challenges” business project organized by the Microsoft company, in which about ten teachers and sixty students of the educational complex participated.
  • 2019 as of April, more than a dozen teachers of the educational complex have been recognized as Microsoft “Innovative Teachers”, and four teachers have been recognized as Microsoft International “Expert Teachers”.


EU e-Twinning

  • It is also worth mentioning the participation in e-Twinning forums both inside and outside of Armenia, as well as the many successes and accomplishments within the e-Twinning projects, among which it is significant to mention “e-Twinning” ambassadors of the educational complex and receiving the European certificate.
  • In December 2017 teachers and students of the Ohanyan educational complex were awarded both national and European quality certificates, honors, and incentive awards within the framework of the National Quality Awards ceremony of the five-year concluding conference of the European Schools’ “e-Twinning” program.
  • As a result of the works and initiatives carried out on the e-Twinning platform, the educational complex was recognized as an e-Twinning school in May 2018.
  • Meetings-seminars were held in the Ohanyan educational complex in October 2018 as part of the “e-Twinning Plus Armenia” program. These meetings-seminars were led by the educators of the educational complex in their capacity as ambassadors of the “e-Twinning Europe” and “E-Twinning Yerevan” programs.
  • More than 60% of the educational complex’s teachers—two of whom are e-Twinning ambassadors—are members of the e-Twinning European Cooperation Platform as of April 2019. We have several implemented and ongoing projects, hundreds of certificates of participation, dozens of national and international quality certificates, and representatives who routinely attend RA and worldwide seminars.


Copyright Program 

The “STEM+Art” (STEAM) program was implemented as an experimental program in the Ohanyan educational complex in 2015 by order of the Minister of Education and Culture. We are happy to inform you that the program has already been approved for use as an author’s complex program by order 1758-А/2 of the Minister of Education and Culture Vahram Dumanyan. The original program was developed by the General Director of the educational complex Susanna Ohanyan and the methodological working group is a combined, end-to-end program aimed at teaching the subjects of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and art. It should be noted that the implementation of the program is supported by books developed by Susanna Ohanyan, as well as Singaporean methodology, guidelines, and textbooks. This initiative of the Ohanyan educational complex is aimed at educating competitive citizens of the future, a generation that will not deviate from STEM directions and will build a career in these fields.


International Baccalaureate

Ohanyan educational complex is an IB PYP candidate school (ages 3-12)). The school is in the process of becoming a member of the International Baccalaureate World School Network. International baccalaureate schools have similar approaches to the philosophy of education, and also have an aspiration to provide high-quality international education, which the Ohanyan educational complex considers a priority for its students.

Students involved in International Baccalaureate programs are characterized as knowledgeable, reflective, inquirer, open-minded, risk-taker, principled, caring and empathetic, communicative, and balanced.
