History
Ohanyan educational complex was founded by Suren and Susanna Ohanyans in 1997. The Chairman of the Board of Founders is Professor Suren Ohanyan, a doctor in geographical sciences. The educational complex has been led by Susanna Ohanyan for more than 20 years. Ohanyan educational complex has developed a number of initiatives during the course of its history with the goal of elevating the next generation and improving education. Knowledge, objectivity, and creativity have been guiding principles for the educational complex over the years. The General Director, Susanna Ohanyan, has been in that position since 2019 and the board of founders entrusted the current management to Sona Miskaryan (Director), who has been involved in innovative initiatives in the educational complex for about 10 years and greatly contributed to the development of the educational complex.
Over the years, the values of the educational complex have been knowledge, impartiality and innovation. The mission of the educational complex is to educate and raise socially responsible individuals with a high moral value system. The first initiative of the directorate of the educational complex, since its establishment in 1997, was teaching Chess. The purpose of that course was not only to develop students’ thinking and reasoning abilities, but also to prepare individuals ready to fight, compete, persevere, win and lose. Later, the national dance was taught in the educational complex for the purpose of self-affirmation, getting rid of complexes, actively participating in public events, and communicating national cultural values. In recent years, science, robotics, and engineering courses have also been introduced in the educational complex, starting from elementary grades. Annual summative science exhibitions are held in the educational complex. Learners demonstrate their science experiments. The exhibitions are attended not only by students and their leaders, but also by the parent community and various specialists interested in the issue, as well as representatives of other educational institutions. Thus, the purpose of the educational complex is not only to prepare the student for further university education, which would severely limit the essence of education, but also to educate such individuals who, regardless of the choice of profession, can work creatively, have analytical skills and critical thinking, be proactive and oriented in any situation.
