1Ohanyan Educational Complex Authorized to Deliver the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in High School

We are proud to announce that Ohanyan Educational Complex has been authorized to implement the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). With this achievement, Ohanyan becomes one of the few schools in Armenia offering a continuous sequence of IB programmes, already being authorized to deliver the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for preschool and elementary levels.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is designed for students aged 16 to 19. The programme is structured to provide in-depth knowledge across various disciplines while fostering intercultural understanding, global-mindedness, a sense of responsibility, community engagement, and more. It cultivates students’ critical thinking and research skills, which are essential for shaping successful future leaders. The programme supports the development of independent, confident, and proactive young individuals.

The IB Diploma is recognized by leading universities around the world—including in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, and beyond. Many universities not only accept the diploma but also award additional credits for DP subjects. IB students are more competitive in both national and international educational and professional fields.

The authorization was granted by the IB Organization following a rigorous and multi-layered evaluation process. This process assessed the school’s learning environment and infrastructure, teacher preparedness, academic programs, available services, and the overall alignment of the educational environment with international standards.

This milestone opens new horizons for the educational complex, contributing to the development of a new generation of modern-thinking, responsible, and proactive future leaders.
