Primary School

The main goal of the primary school is to help students develop their mental, spiritual, and physical abilities, as well as their language thinking, literacy, logic, ingenuity, and creative thinking. At this age, children develop their first working skills. A smooth transition from preschool to primary school, and then to middle school, is carried out with the assistance of skilled teachers of the primary school.

The teaching and learning methods used in school contribute to the child’s individual development, aesthetic taste formation, and creative thought development. Special emphasis is placed within the boundaries of the science subject (copyright program) on the development of the child’s ingenuity and curiosity.

In this circle, a subject-oriented training program is implemented, which is combined with the educational and cultural center of the educational complex’s additional education of young students. Chess was introduced as a compulsory course in elementary school for the first time in the country 12 years ago, which is important for developing a child’s logic and ability to concentrate for long periods of time.

The STEAM educational program has been implemented in the primary school, with the following components:

From the 2019-2020 school year, mathematics and science subjects are taught in the elementary grades using Singaporean methodology and manuals (additional hours are allocated for this purpose), which has already been proven effective. STEAM labs and ART labs were also established to improve game learning in elementary schools and to ensure the growth of the STEAM educational program. Through games, toys, and art, children will be able to strengthen their knowledge and skills in these classrooms, particularly in science, mathematics, technology, and engineering courses.

 

Since 2021 Ohanyan educational complex has been an IB PYP candidate school. The school is in the process of becoming a member of the International Baccalaureate World School Network. International baccalaureate schools have similar approaches to the philosophy of education, and also have an aspiration to provide high-quality international education, which Ohanyan educational complex considers as a priority for its students.
